The Roosevelt Project: A New Deal for Employment, Energy, and Environment
Event Description:
The Roosevelt Project aims to chart a path forward through the transition towards deep decarbonization that minimizes worker and community dislocations and enables at-risk communities to sustain employment and harness economic opportunities. The project was initiated by former Secretary of Energy, Ernest J. Moniz, and engages a breadth of MIT and Harvard faculty and researchers across academic domains including Economics, Engineering, Sociology, Urban Studies and Planning, and Political Science.
In this webinar, Dr. Moniz will be joined by a group of high-level experts from academia, public policy and civil society to release nine Working Papers completed during the first phase of the Roosevelt Project. These offer a crosscutting and multidisciplinary assessment of key challenges and opportunities related to the transition. Panelists will present and discuss central messages from this first project phase.
