Kelly Wu is a PhD student at MIT’s Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. Her current research at CEEPR focuses on determining the methane intensity of U.S. LNG using satellite and operational data. She has also studied the soft costs of renewable energy deployment as a part of her PhD.
Previously, Kelly was a Senior Associate at RMI (formerly Rocky Mountain Institute) where she advised heavy industry companies on net-zero roadmaps, modeled global carbon capture pathways, and developed climate tech innovation theses. She holds a master’s from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar, where she studied Chinese industrial decarbonization, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from MIT.
