Juan Senga is a Senior Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research. His research focuses on the optimization and quantitative modeling of power systems and policies that shape the energy transition. This includes analyses of U.S. transmission infrastructure legislation, the impacts of data centers and flexibility on power systems, modeling extreme events, managed charging of electric vehicles, and grid enhancing technologies. Juan also conducts research on energy transition policies in Southeast Asia, covering topics such as biofuel and solar policy in Malaysia and Indonesia, power systems modeling of the Philippines, and load forecasting in Singapore. Before joining MIT, Juan was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Supply Chain and Sustainability at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. from Nanyang Business School and a B.S. from Ateneo de Manila University.
