Yifei Liu is a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Center for Energy & Environmental Policy Research. Her research focuses on environmental and energy economics, as well as empirical industrial organization. Yifei studies how policy, regulatory institutions, and market structure influence the energy sector, with a particular focus on investment. At CEEPR, she works on research projects that develop empirical models of the supply of and demand for critical minerals required for the energy transition.

Before joining CEEPR, Yifei completed her Ph.D. in Applied Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She received a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley, with double majors in Environmental Science and Environmental Economics & Policy.
