Ignacia Mercadal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Florida. Her research centers on industrial organization and energy economics, particularly on the study of firm strategic behavior and regulation in electricity markets using big data.
Before joining UF, Professor Mercadal was an assistant professor at Columbia University and a postdoctoral fellow at MIT CEEPR. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on data analysis and econometrics.
