Alexander Kuptel is a Ph.D. candidate in the System Dynamics Group in the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Graduate Research Assistant at the MIT Center for Energy Economics and Environmental Policy Research. His research interests focus on green technology adoption and its interactions with the electric grid and workforce development. His current work with Prof. John Sterman studies the impact of installer shortages on heat pump adoption and, in collaboration with a distribution utility, the tradeoff between transmission investments and distributed energy resource adoption. Before coming to MIT, he earned a BA in Economics and Philosophy summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
