Sebastian Schwenen is Associate Professor at the Technical University of Munich School of Management, where he also serves as Director of the Center for Energy Markets. He is also a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and at the Mannheim Institute for Sustainable Energy Studies.
His research lies at the intersection of industrial organization and applied microeconomics, with a particular focus on the design, structure, and regulation of energy and resource markets and their network infrastructure. His work examines how market rules, policy design, and institutional frameworks shape competition, efficiency, and investment.
